We're not yet sure whether or not HMD Global will introduce a new Nokia smartphone on October 4, but we do know that the Finnish company has an important smartphone-related announcement to make next week.

If HMD does indeed plan to unveil a new smartphone, it can only be the Nokia 7.1 and/or some of its variations – Nokia X7 and Nokia 7.1 Plus. The former will be launched in China, while the global version will be released as Nokia 7.1.
